Carrier’s Women’s Empowerment (WE) Employee Resource Group (ERG) works to promote an inclusive workplace by being the voice for women across Carrier and supported activities in support of Women’s History Month worldwide.

“Women’s History Month is a time to pause and reflect. It is a great opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements. It is time to learn about the realities and challenges affecting women, and it is a reminder that we all need to take an active role in advocating for an equitable world,” said Fabiola Solorio, Director, HVAC FP&A and Global Chair of WE.

On International Women’s Day March 8, WE hosted numerous events, including a virtual event featuring keynote speaker Ursula Burns, the first Black female CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Burns shared great insight on work-life balance, leadership and embracing equity to more than 1,000 participants. A panel discussion followed the keynote as members discussed embracing gender equity and the challenges women may face in the workplace, as well as opportunities for gender equality and the important role of active allies.

In the Asia-Pacific region, WE hosted more than 25 local events and multiple panel discussions. In Europe, luncheons, webinars and networking sessions were held. Over 100 colleagues in the Middle East participated in both in-person and virtual events. In the Americas, self-defense classes and reflection lunches took place. In the U.S., members of WE based at Carrier’s global headquarters volunteered with Habitat for Humanity to build fencing and a playhouse for a local family in Palm Beach County, Florida.
