Carrier Takes on Global Food Insecurity During Hunger Action Month
Carrier’s purpose – Enhancing the Lives We Live and the World We Share – is more than a statement. It reflects deliberate, meaningful action to make a difference in the communities where we operate and our employees live and work. With up to 783 million people going hungry every day1, purposeful, collective action is needed to help end hunger and food waste.

In recognition of Hunger Action Month and the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste on Sept. 29, Carrier organized high-impact volunteer events in collaboration with the European Food Banks Federation, Feeding America and other food banks worldwide. Twelve events took place in nine global cities, where Carrier employee volunteers came together to sort and pack food for distribution to community members in need.

"Addressing hunger, food loss and waste is more than a cause, it’s a shared responsibility that extends beyond our products and solutions,” said Ed Dryden, President, Climate Solutions Transportation, Carrier. “I’m proud of our teams around the world who dedicated their time and energy to support their local communities. Their actions are a powerful reflection of our purpose and the values we live every day."

In addition to employee volunteer events, Carrier has donated approximately $225,000 to hunger relief organizations worldwide this year. This direct support enables nonprofits to continue developing the tools and resources necessary to build capacity, rescue more perishable food and provide immediate hunger relief in Carrier communities.
