Investing in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education programs that promote diversity and inclusion is one of Carrier’s 2030 Environmental, Social and Governance goals. Carrier and the Carrier Foundation are committed to developing the next generation of critical thinkers and innovators by supporting local and national education-focused organizations.

Carrier employees unveiled the Carrier-sponsored STEM section at the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County’s Red Apple Supply Store on National STEM Day, Nov. 8. The free school supply store serves the highest-needs Title I schools in the community and is a resource for teachers to shop and equip their classrooms.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Carrier volunteers assisted nearly 100 teachers from all over the county with shopping and placing STEM-related materials in their vehicles. Some dedicated teachers drove over an hour to secure necessary supplies to enhance their students’ learning.

Carrier is a proud sponsor of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, an organization that supports K-12 public school children achievement by providing students with access to tools and resources they need to succeed. Carrier supports the Education Foundation’s programs throughout the year, most recently the company organized a backpack drive where volunteers packed essential, donated supplies for a successful school year. Carrier also partnered to create the HVAC-R academy at a local high school. The four-year high school program combines core academics with hands-on industry training that encourages students to pursue careers in air conditioning, refrigeration and heating technology.
