Carrier Releases 14 SEER WeatherMaker® Commercial Packaged Rooftop Units to Meet New DOE Requirements
Carrier has released a new line of WeatherMaker commercial packaged rooftop units that provide 14 SEER efficiency levels to meet the new U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) efficiency standard. Carrier, the world’s leader in high technology heating, ventilating and air-conditioning solutions, is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Designed for simple installation, easy maintenance and reliable operation, the WeatherMaker rooftops are available with certified and pre-engineered factory options and field-installed accessories. Units share common components and cabinet designs with other Weather-series rooftops for improved product familiarity, training and access to aftermarket parts.
“The addition of this new, 14 SEER unit further strengthens our most comprehensive offering in commercial packaged rooftops, and will provide customers an additional efficiency point to help save energy and lower operating costs,” said Greg Alcorn, vice president, commercial sales and marketing, Carrier. “With much of this segment being replacement driven, we also designed these new models to fit exactly on existing Carrier roofcurbs dating back more than 25 years, eliminating the need for curb adapters or changing utility connections – making it a perfect fit for replacement opportunities.”
