Carrier Celebrates Black History Month
RIT

In celebration of Black History Month, Carrier proudly honored the rich history, culture and transformational achievements of Black and African American individuals who have changed the course of history. The Carrier Black Alliance (CBA), an Employee Resource Group dedicated to attracting, retaining, inspiring and reinforcing the value of Black employees at Carrier, organized activities to provide employees with opportunities to reflect on the progress made in establishing equity for all people and supporting Carrier’s culture of Inclusion & Diversity.

“The theme of Black History Month this year is ‘Committing to Excellence,’ a call to action for all employees across Carrier to invest in the development, engagement and inclusion of black employees, through a renewed focus around Carrier’s strategic inclusion and diversity pillars,” said Nikki Lockett, Sr. Director, Marketing & Communications NA Residential & Light Commercial HVAC, and Co-Chair of CBA.

Black History Month kicked off with Carrier’s “ELEVATE: Blacks in Leadership” reception, held at Carrier's global headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida where members of the cohort networked with leadership and members of the CBA. The CBA also hosted a “Build your Boss Brand” workshop where employees discussed the importance of authenticity and personal branding. Several sites also hosted networking activities for CBA members to celebrate and collaborate.

The month’s events concluded with a virtual closing gala featuring Grammy award winning singer, song writer and Tony award winning Broadway actress Stephanie Mills.
