At Carrier, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is embedded in the company’s DNA. Throughout its global operations, Carrier’s employees are working to minimize the company’s environmental footprint and make investments that improve society. Today, Carrier released its 2022 ESG Report that demonstrates the quantifiable impacts the company’s bold ESG initiatives are having on addressing the planet’s most complex challenges.

“We are making measurable progress toward our ESG goals and creating a brighter future for the planet, people and communities,” said Jennifer Anderson, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Business Development and Chief Sustainability Officer, Carrier. “We are proud of our progress so far and recognize that much remains to be done.”

At the intersection of key secular drivers – including health and wellness, sustainability, digitalization and a growing middle class − Carrier is uniquely positioned to deliver solutions for a changing world. These secular drivers are closely aligned with Carrier’s core strategy of healthy, safe, sustainable and intelligent building and cold chain solutions.

This year, Carrier has made strides in many areas central to its vision, including climate, Inclusion & Diversity, and global communities. Below are a few highlights from Carrier’s 2022 ESG Report.

Climate & Sustainability
Since 2020, the adoption of high-efficiency and lower global warming potential refrigerant products have helped avoid approximately 137 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions – marking significant progress toward Carrier’s gigaton goal. This is equal to the annual energy use of more than 16 million U.S. homes.

With the recent launch of Carrier Ventures, the company is focused on all the ways it can help our customers and partners advance sustainability every day. Carrier Ventures focuses on investments to accelerate the development of sustainable innovations and disruptive technologies enabling the future of building and cold chain management.

Inclusion & Diversity
Carrier’s employees are the heart of the company. Carrier is committed to providing an inclusive workplace where all employees feel like they _belong. Approximately 3,500 employees across Carrier’s global footprint currently participate in an Employee Resource Group.

The company continues to reduce the gap by progressing diverse talent and recruiting more diverse talent, with an increase in global executive diversity from 27% in 2015 to 48% in 2021, and global women executives from 20% in 2015 to 32% in 2021.

Communities
Carrier is committed to making the world more sustainable for generations to come. As part of an ongoing three-year, $3 million commitment to The Nature Conservancy, a global organization working to create a world where people and nature can thrive together, Carrier is helping make the cities of tomorrow resilient, healthy and equitable. Through this collaboration, employees are helping drive sustainability and climate resiliency in the communities where they live and work.

“Carrier is meeting customers where they are and helping them realize their ESG objectives,” Anderson concluded. “Sustainability is not a moment in time, but rather a continuous improvement process.”
