Carrier OptiClean Units Scrub Air in Dental Practice, Helping to Keep Patients and Staff Healthy

As the world continues implementing reopening procedures in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses and medical offices are ramping up for a safe and healthy transition to a new normal. In one New Jersey dental practice, four Carrier OptiCleanTM units are scrubbing the air, helping to create a healthier indoor air environment for patients and staff.

“I was very concerned about COVID-19 and wanted to be proactive, so I decided to install two OptiClean units in each of my two office locations, one in each treatment room,” said Dr. Fredric A. Lubit, DDS, North Jersey Endodontics. “I’m very impressed with the Carrier products, the support, the staff, and my local dealer.”

Carrier OptiClean units roll easily into any appropriately sized room and plug into a standard electrical outlet to quickly improve indoor air quality (IAQ). Units can be operated vertically or horizontally as air scrubbers, ideal for a wide range of commercial applications, including K–12 classrooms and open-air, temporary medical facilities, or as negative air machines, helping to convert normal hospital rooms into negative-pressure airborne infectious isolation rooms by adding a vacuum effect to the HEPA filtration capability.

Two OptiClean units were installed in Dr. Lubit’s Wayne, New Jersey office, and two additional units were installed in his Kinnelon, New Jersey office, for a total of four OptiClean units. The units operate separately in each treatment room from the time both offices open until 30 minutes after the last patient leaves.

“Dr. Lubit originally approached us with other similar choices he had investigated himself, and I’d heard about the OptiClean, so I introduced him to it,” said David Arnold, head of service, Ultimate Air Systems Inc. “The installation was relatively simple and took about an hour.”

Arnold said Ultimate Air Systems Inc. has received inquiries from customers who may not know about the units but are looking for solutions. The OptiClean unit’s mobility and ease of use creates many potential applications.
