BURGER KING® has chosen Carrier’s Green & Cool® natural refrigerant CO2Y® units as its preferred refrigeration systems for its restaurants in Spain. These units use environmentally responsible carbon dioxide and natural refrigerant solutions while reducing overall environmental impact.

Carrier has installed 10 systems at various BURGER KING locations in Spain, with another 30 units scheduled to be installed in the coming months. The project marks the first time BURGER KING restaurants in Spain are utilizing CO2 refrigerants.

The project was led by Frimatec, the official contractor of BURGER KING restaurants in Spain. “It was challenging to find the right refrigeration solution that combines natural refrigerant and efficiency. After testing Green & Cool CO2Y solutions, we were totally satisfied by the performance and the compact design of the product,” said José Zafra, chairman, Frimatec.
