SPAR Hungary

SPAR Hungary operates over 550 retail food stores including more than 30 Spar International hypermarkets. To enhance the display of fresh products while maximizing energy efficiency across all hypermarket stores, SPAR turned to Carrier Commercial Refrigeration.

The new installation included Carrier Danaos Total Transparency service counters and award-winning Carrier Optimer low front cabinets featuring energy-saving fans, specially designed LED lighting and natural refrigerant propane (R290). The units reduced energy consumption by 61% while fulfilling SPAR’s sustainability ambitions and providing enhanced displays that delight SPAR shoppers.

Crate & Barrel

Crate & Barrel operates more than 170 stores across the United States. To maintain the optimal environment for showcasing its products, its stores require four times more energy for lighting than traditional stores.

When building a new location in Durham, North Carolina, the retailer included Carrier equipment and the i-Vu Building Automation System. The solution integrates all HVAC and lighting components, providing a 70% reduction in HVAC costs and, in combination with a lighting redesign, a 50% reduction in lighting energy usage compared to earlier stores.
