In 2008, spectators and television audiences worldwide watched as international athletes shattered world records, winning gold medal after gold medal in the waters of the National Aquatic Center in Beijing, China. As the events transpired in the pool at the “Water Cube,” Carrier technology was taking part in an amazing feat of its own.

One of the most high-profile events in tennis, the U.S. Open celebrated its 135th birthday by installing a retractable roof atop its iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium. With air conditioning critical to the success of the project, Carrier was called in to help.

Designed for large-capacity applications, the system uses the natural, non-ozone depleting refrigerant carbon dioxide and uses heat recovery to efficiently provide both heating and cooling.
