Hakan Yilmaz is Senior Vice President, Chief Technology & Sustainability Officer for Carrier. In this role, he drives Carrier’s product, technology and sustainability strategies and execution, with a focus on intelligent climate and energy solutions. Hakan oversees a global network of more than 6,700 engineers, guides product and program management teams and champions climate change and sustainability initiatives. He is charged with accelerating progress toward Carrier’s 2050 net zero goal, which is anchored in reducing customers’ carbon footprints with innovative products and leading home and building energy management solutions around the globe.

Hakan joined Carrier in 2022 and has more than 22 years of experience in global engineering, technology and strategy organizations in the Automotive and Aerospace industries at Bosch, BorgWarner and Honeywell. In his last role at Honeywell Aerospace, Hakan served as Chief Technology Officer, responsible for global engineering and technology teams, leading the company’s advanced technology strategy and road-mapping for the businesses, while also driving key transformations to break-through technology development, customer-focused innovation and optimized operations.

Hakan earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Orta Dogu Teknik Universitesi, Ankara, Turkey and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering and engineering management from the University of Michigan.
